Re: Version 0.5.3-beta2 of CD-i Emulator released!

Can we expect an update sometime in the near future. I don't mean to rush you or anything but it seems like the emulator hasn't had much support lately. I am just hoping you are still updating it and you haven't left us

Re: CD-i ROMS (BIOS) Files

For an old console such as the CD-I completely banning bios and iso from being linked to or discussed only helps destroy information to time. Philips is not going to start selling more CD-I systems soon and some stuff has not been sold in 20+ years, no profits are being effected and I doubt anyone c...

Re: Call of Duty Black Ops 2

I prefer battlefield, COD has really been repeating itself a lot lately and Battlefield has such an open environment.

Re: what other game systems could also play movies?

Amiga CD and CD32 are basically Amiga computers so at some level they will play a sort of video. The ps1, 3DO, and sega Saturn will play VCDs with dvc type of things. Many systems can play basic video if you were to hack it into a "game" loader program. Everything modern with a disk driver can play ...

Re: Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

I heard the release titles are Hotel Mario 2, Voyeur 3, and the Apprentice: The lost levels. Plus it will even come with its own spoon shaped controller!

Re: Another box of testing discs

If I'm not supposed to ask this then ignore it, but is there any way you could make iso files of the development disks and upload them so others can see and archive. This stuff is getting harder and harder to find and it would be a shame if something happens to the only copy in existence.

Re: Magnavox CD-i 450 troubles....need help

I'm sorry your question wasn't answered earlier but I am going to answer in case anyone else has the same problem. A bad timekeeper chip means you wont be able to save your games because the memory gets reset when the console is turned off. This will not limit you from being able to play games or so...

Service manuals

I have looked all over the internet to obtain any of the service manuals for any of them and have not been able to find any :( . A lot of the CD-i websites have been going down in recent years and we are constantly losing resources. If there is anyway for you to make some scans even if its with a ca...

DV cartridge anyone?

Seems Philips parts distributor is still allowing us to "buy" 2 sizes of digital video carts for the CD-I. They are expensive, and they probably don't have any left... but maybe... http://www.encompassparts.com/item/876450/Philips/22ER9956/Dv_Cartridge_-_Small http://www.encompassparts.com/item/6735...

For future reference

It would be possible to take a wall wart with the same ratings and solder it to one end of an Ethernet cable and as long as you do it right will work. Universal wall warts are pretty cheap or you can get a Philips one on ebay but they are $$.

Also if we did the same thing with the 210/220 resistor wou...

Weird

Sorry I'm replying to this old thread but I checked the data sheets and that chip has about 4 times more ram memory then the normal chip and it's supposed to be extra low voltage and that would explain for why it lasted so long. IDK what models they used this in but maybe any of them could be upgrad...
