Hi, I'm not sure of the version (it's not an original disc) - I can't get it to boot in the emulator, and my CD-i machines are packed in boxes at the moment as I move house at the end of the week. However, once I've unpacked everything, I'll boot it on a real CD-i and will hopefully be able to tell ...

Hi,

I have "Monty Python's More Naughty Bits" - very amusing, some nice CD-i-specific animations in addition to the usual Python clips.

This isn't a VCD - it only plays on the CD-i.

All three titles are mentioned here, about a quarter of the way down the page.

Hi,

I have a Media Mogul CD - looking at it via ISOBuster, the most recent files are dated June 1995. Is this of any use?

Hi, I'd also like an explanation! As far as I can tell, MediaMogul was an application that allowed the generation of very basic CD-i titles, more for doing semi-interactive presentation-type material than anything else - and Balboa is a set of run-time libraries, providing useful routines that CD-i ...

Hi, Apologies for posting in the wrong place, I meant to reply to an existing post with this, rather than to create a new topic... oops! I had an early (either 1st gen or 2nd gen) Philips DVD player and its support for VCD was very basic to say the least. I missed the colourful CD-i menus of ...

Hi,

Were there any plans for a combined DVD player and CD-i unit? I seem to remember reading something about this about 10 years ago, but it may have just been rumours on the Internet...

Ouch! Unsurprisingly, nobody took the "buy it now" option and it closed without being sold, the top bid being £26! As for the price, I guess it depends on how desperate someone is to repair a CD-i, though for that price, you could buy several complete machines - and take a chance that one has a dece...

Sounds like a good deal to me! Shame there weren't more special deals on GC stuff when it was newer. I used to hate the fact that PS2 and XBox users had a huge reduced price back-catalogue of stuff, whereas the GC games were always much more expensive, even when they'd been out for a year! I'm quite...

@Devin: the BBC computer is far better than a Win98 PC! Anything that doesn't go "burr-beep" when switched on just isn't worth using! @Octorok: many systems of the late eighties and early nineties are "crap" when compared to modern PCs and game consoles. The point of an emulator is to preserve...

Hi, Have a quick Google for "ISOBuster" as this'll let you extract the MPEG-1 stream into a file on a Windows-based PC. Note that the "Digital Video On CD-i" movies contain an MPEG stream that's in a different resolution to a standard VCD, so it isn't usually possible to create a VCD from this witho...

Hi,

You could try asking some of the UK's Panasonic franchises, as these sell B&O stuff as well as the Panasonic stuff. Even as recently as two or so years ago, the shop in Horsham, West Sussex, had a B&O/CD-i combo TV for sale, for some horrendous price!

Damn, that's a rip off. When wasd the last time people had to pay to download emulators? Depends on what you're emulating and its target market... I don't think the price quoted is a rip-off. If you're actually interested in the CD-i and perhaps own one or two, it's not much to pay, especially when...
