I'm pretty sure you need an older tv ... the guns aren't designed to work on these newer fancier models.

Reminded me of some great games I had forgotten about ... The Dig - I love the Music & Atmosphere in this game. I also appreciate that its a serious story for a change, unlike most of the goofy plots lucasarts was known for. Maniac Mansion - I agree, the Nes version is better. Not only does it look ...

I think the game is easy to get into. Assuming you don't mind its slower pace (there is lots of talking) For a graphic adventure, the puzzles are pretty straightforward, and the challenge is on the low end. Its almost impossible to die, and likewise almost impossible to get stuck (the game has a bui...

Lost Eden is awesome!

Seriously, I already knew this game rocked (I've owned the 3DO version for some time) but I love it just as much, if not more, on CD-i. For one, I was stunned how good the graphics looked! I expected them to be a bit of a step up from the 3DO version, but I gotta say the DVC is one powerful piece of...

I may be the only person in the world who likes "Hotel Mario" more than "Mario & Yoshi" You know something, I think you are right. Seriously, if you genuinely feel that way than I'm happy you can get that much enjoyment from Hotel Mario. Surprised, but happy. Anyone else think "Hotel Mario" ...

Thanks for sharing the list Alan. A shame it is so small, but what can you do?

For a CD-i game Hotel Mario is pretty good. Like the Zelda games, it can't compare to the Nintendo Mario games. Still, given they machine, and the rest of the CD-i's library, it's not bad.

CD-i vcd's not on dvd

Are there any vcd titles that have yet to appear on DVD? Also, are there any w/any extras? For example, one of my James Bond vcd's has an informational booklet similar to the ones that the dvd releases got years later.

I really miss co-op play. 2-player games on CD-i seem to be an after thought. (how many are there, like a dozen?)

I'd forgotten about the time limit ... but you're right!

And the high scores are meaningless.

I also don't care for how a boss can get into an elevator after you are already in one and eat you.

Hotel Mario - The Good & the Bad

Six things I like about Hotel Mario -Addictive, like all good puzzle games. -Characters look great! -Good, colorful graphics. -Koopa Kids! :D -Music is bouncy & pleasent. -Save after any level! Six things I don't like about Hotel Mario -Animated cutscenes. -Cheap enemies -Jumping is broken! ...

I've had so many comments saying 'CD-i is bad, AVGN said so!"... pretty sad when people can't think for themselves anymore and deny themselves an open minded experience. I love the Internet. Only place where millions of people can hate a game that sold less than 200,000 copies I can't imagine eithe...

I actually have Zelda's Adventure! Haven't spent too much time w/it yet (my model CD-i is picky w/copies ... it only loads up about 1/2 the time) but I do prefer that it tries to copy the original Zelda unlike the other two which copy Adv. of Link. The main things that bug me about Zelda's Adv. are ...

I'm bumping this old post of mine only to say what a big difference there is playing this game w/a real controller! Sadly all of my above complaints still stand, but at least now its far less frustrating to make progress.

Goldstar units (sad to say) don't measure up to the quality of the Panasonic 3DO's.
