Just out of curiousity, ho far into the game does the bug/bugs occur? I've read both at the start and in the middle.

Dark Castle reviewed by the VGC

Nice to finally see a new CD-i review from him.

I remember this game having terrible control ... not sure if I'd give it an F though.

@Alan_Eng ... sorry, but I'm not sure what clue I could give (maybe if I booted the game back up) I do know for myself that it was frustrating trial & error. If I remember right though the section isn't huge, so w/time & patience you should eventually luck out. If worse comes to worse, check the abo...

Hey thanks, not sure how I missed that one ... Btw, I really like your video reviews! :) I've been watching quite a few of them since I finally got a working cd-i player again. Your "lets play" vids are great too. I've gotten stuck in Zelda Wand of Gamelon, so I''ve been checking them out to ...

I tried something similar years back ... I called Goldstar. The rep who took my call was aware of the CD-i (& 3DO too) but he couldn't help me at that particualr moment. He took my # and promised a call back. Unsurprisingly, it never happened ...

Mixed feelings on Zelda The Wand of Gamelon

I suppose my thoughts would apply to Link The Faces of Evil also, but anyway ... First things first, obviously compared to the Nintendo Zelda games these are awful. I'm sure even the biggest CD-i fan agrees w/this, yes? On their own though, I think they are average, in some respects above average es...

Video? You don't have a link by any chance do you Bas? I've looked on Youtube and there are only a few vids for the CD-i version, none of which show the 2 player co-op mode. (The Half Blind Gamer makes mention of it in his review, but the video doesn't show it.)

Arcade classics 2 player Ms. Pacman

How fun in this mode? I've got a splitter coming to me and (maybe) a copy of this compilation. I've got multiple versions of the games already, but its 2 player co-op Ms. Pacman that has me excited (plus its one of only a hnadful of true 2 player games for CD-i if I'm not mistaken) So, any thoughts?...

So I got my player to the point where it reads discs about 1/2 the time. Annoyintlyg, but not the end of the world. More importantly it no longer seems to gvie dirty disc messages, which is great.

Am I risking wearing out the system playing burnt discs? I only have 2, but it is a concern.

I don't have any ideas unfortunately (off the top of my head anyway) but will certainly let you know if I should be struck w/insight.

To be honest, I didn't try anonymously. Perhaps I will. If you see a post encouraging you to give Flashback another chance you know who it's from.

Bas, is there no way to link your blog and this forum for accounts? What I mean is, I tried to post a comment (thinking I could uses my CD-i forum info) but saw that I needed a Google/blogger account instead. Anyway, your blog is great! :) I'd love to hear your thoughts on a couple of games, mainly ...

Thanks for the info. I'm actually unfamiliar w/the board game, so I'll try to look that up to get a better idea about the game.

Do you think its worth the time/cash to track it down? Where does it rank among CD-i titles? Any reviews that you know of?

I've always been curious about those types of titles, although I don't own any (yet) The closest I have may be "National Parks Tour" which combines nice slides w/cool background music. Is there a good place to find info on the art series releases? They don't seem to get the type of chatter the games...
