With great thanks to Michiel who just brought this to my home, i'm now able to scan portions of the cd-i magazines.

I don't have any drivers for it, though... I found a power supply, and i think it's working, but how do i get this thing working?

It's a DP30M scanner from 'The Simplex'....

You'll probably have to use the scanner program itself and not route it through Paint Shop Pro. When you installed the drivers was a basic scan protocol program associated with it?

No.... i know these scanners worked with iPhoto Plus, these came with them originally, but i don't have it.... I'll try to download it somewhere. Yet i'm sure it did work with PSP some years ago when i had (almost) the same scanner.

i can't find this damn program anywhere! I hope Michiel will have a spare copy...

I'm not yet gone :). You can use the scanner directly from Paint Shop Pro. I think it was in the file menu, there should be an item labelled 'import' or 'devices'. Then select the 'twain' device and the scanner program will pop up. IIRC you can't directly start a scanner program with the drivers I had for that scanner.

Thanks, Devin, I already found a similar disc. But unfortunately i'm afraid these scanners are not compatible with winxp or something. I tried a second one, but none of them are recognized by my PC. I gave it up after a few hours. Tomorrow i'm trying an USB scanner from a friend of mine, so who knows....

Does anyone know a good but cheap scanner type? I'm going to buy my own one.

I just knew I spoke to soon!!

After scanning a few articles into JPEG format and then PDF, literally on the final PDF I was creating the software failed!! Done everything I can think of from uninstalling the entire thing and reinstalling it to a complete System Restore and still no luck!! I'm going to have to look elsewhere to do PDF files in the future it seems :?

My hatred for scanners has been renewed
