Video Game Revival

Here's a tough nut for you to crack. If you could resurrect one single video game franchise throughout the ages with a sequel or maybe even a prequel which would you chose and state your reasons. I'll have to give this some thought myself!! So many great games and oh so much time wasted.

well, i would like to see a sequel to Aidyn Chronicles for the N64. But i guess i'm the only one in the world who was crazy enough to go through that game!!
Other than that it's been to long since we've seen a brand new 2D mario platformer. Oh it's such a cliche, but i would love to see another Super Mario World.

Personally i'd like to see a sequel to Flashback in all its 2 Dimensional glory, forget that 3D Fade to Black (Rubbish!).
This time however i'm sure the animations can be increased ten fold with more gameplay innovations and a greater depth of combat would be fantastic. Also lose the stupid ending and maintain the pace of the earlier missions with some decent arcing storylines. Surely this is in the realms of possibility with all the handheld platforms about.

Hmm thats a pretty hard question, I would probably choose a CD-i title though to be honest like Escape From Cyber City, Rise of the Robots or Lords of the Rising Sun ... now Lords of the Rising Sun would be good if it was re-made. Then again Another Discworld game would be great ... gahhh there are just way to many to choose from ..

I hear you on that one!!
Loved the run of Dizzy Adventure games although I’m not a huge fan of the spin-offs. Spectrum was my bread and butter for these games.
Check out this website: Fantastic Dizzy
, so perhaps you'll get your wish!!

Your forgetting just plain "Dizzy" the original adventure before Treasure Island!!
Well Dizzy was a walking talking egg basically, set in a very creative adventure game full of character and some great puzzles. I was hooked to this series of adventure games throughout my childhood, great fun!! Of course the creators called The Oliver Twins (yes actual twins!!) bear more than a slight resemblance to Dizzy these days with heads like a hardboiled egg
gotta love 'em.

Found this where they mention CD-I
CRASH: How do you see computer games developing in the future?
Phil: The UK market is undoubtedly going to follow the US and everything is moving towards consoles, which are easier systems for people to understand. The main problem is the cost of console cartridges.
Andy: Phillips are about to bring out the CD-I, Compact Disc Interactive, which I believe will do very well in a few years time. Compact discs are relatively cheap to produce - about the same as audio cassettes - and therefore should overcome the disadvantage of the expensive console cartridges. The idea is that you buy a player similar to a video recorder which can load computer games. I've seen some demonstrations of interactive cartoons which are very impressive.
Maybe they thought of a DIZZY game on CD-I ?????

I doubt it went any further than this speculation however.

I would love to see Burn Cycle resurrected!! You know.. the same haunting game atmosphere.. but now in Glorious 3D!! Definately potential there...
of course.. any of the Lucasarts adventures would be great! Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis for example.. great stuff!
