Game question
Emulator ROM?
Hello,
Put simply, I'm trying to get cutscenes from a game for some YouTube work I'm doing. I don't have a CD-i, just the emulator. I got a file for a game somewhere and I did everything you said and still this thing keeps asking for a ROM file.
Help? Please?

Re: Emulator ROM?
So, do you actually have a ROM file? That's not a game but the BIOS ROM of a CD-i player. The emulator doesn't run without it.barpa0 wrote:I got a file for a game somewhere and I did everything you said and still this thing keeps asking for a ROM file.
About that...
Well, I'm not sure. What looks like the most important folder came with a .bin and a .cue file. When I look into the folder through the emulator, I only see the bin file. I click that, it doesn't fuss about incompatibility, but it still doesn't work.
Where would the ROM file hide?

The CD-i ROM file holds the operating system of the player. Read this tutorial to find out what it is and how to get it.barpa0 wrote:Well, I'm not sure. Okay so let me get this straight.
1.The ROM file has nothing to do with anything but the emulator I downloaded and has to come from a ROM dump.
2.The emulator won't work without an actual CD-i system.
3.I'm gonna get into trouble and have my account revoked for posting something I thought was on topic but really wasn't.
That all correct?

Let me reply item by item.
Correct.barpa0 wrote:1.The ROM file has nothing to do with anything but the emulator I downloaded and has to come from a ROM dump.
No, you just need the ROM dump from an actual CD-i system. Obtaining it from an actual CD-i system you own is the only legal way to obtain it, but there are pirated copies around. In this forum we do not condone such practices; if you want such a copy you'll have to hunt for it yourself.barpa0 wrote:2.The emulator won't work without an actual CD-i system.
No, I simply noticed that the topic was getting too diverse and cleaned it up. The misconception is entirely understandable and I don't see why that should get your account revoked?barpa0 wrote:3.I'm gonna get into trouble and have my account revoked for posting something I thought was on topic but really wasn't.
