Homebrew Player ROM?

Post by Kao » Mon Sep 19, 2005 11:03 pm

Is it possible to write a very simple player ROM? I could see this making the process of running the cd-i emulator a lot less daunting to people who aren't quite as technically informed and wouldn't be able to figure out the whole nullmodem cable and cd-i'nterlink program. Though I'm certainly not suggesting anyone take on this project.
It's like 1993 all over again!

Writing a ROM is certainly possible, but it's not simple. You'd need to clone almost the entire OS-9 OS and reimplement the CD-i file managers and drivers specified by the Green Book...
