Was there ever a touchscreen?

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

Was there ever a touchscreen?

Addon for the CD-i? I just got a wierd disk in the lot I bought so. I assume its for the CD-i anyway since thats the lot it was in. "Screendisc Interactive Preview Systems- The Preview System"

Then on the disk it says
"Hidden Touch Points on Main Menu for looping previews"

Lots of cool disks that I got though, including a CD-i Full Motion Video Update disk, and a few other odd ones, plus Promo/Demo disks ;)

Yes, touchscreens were commonly (?) used in kiosk and sales applications.

The touchscreen should be compatible with almost any title, it works like a tablet. As you can imagine playing games like steel machine is a bit difficult with a touchscreen. IIRC the touchscreens lose calibration over the period of years, or so I was told by the company I bought my screen from. You should be able to fix this with some work.

Oh you will ;) Got a few kinks in my new recording setup though, think I can get em fixed relatively quick though. Know of anyone else who owns those disks?

It depends.... Demonstration discs I've seen a lot, but normally it's about the full retail version just for demo issues. The two discs Devin mentions, may be interesting depending on what titles are discussed in it!

If it is like this one then we already know. Can you tell what's on the disc?

Cool. I have videos from the Winter Sampler Disc but the Summer version is new to me!

Also never heard of that 'CD-i Full Motion Video Technical Aspects' to the best of my memory.

lol the Technical Aspects video is stupid :P Has some videos and stuff, not as exciting as it sounded. The other disk, the Update disk, seems more like a sales disk then anything, meant for stores and such who want to sell the CD-i or something.
