Hey guys,

Usually I don't promote my video's just like this, but in this case I'll make an exceptiong. I think many of you will agree here when I say that the Zelda games by Animation Magic get more negative coverage lately then they really deserve.

Well, I do review CD-i games, and this time I decided to take a look at the Zelda platsformer games on CD-i. Like always I try to bring over my objective opinion, and I personally don't find the games nearly as bad as people generally make them out to be. Hope you enjoy the video and please let me know what you think. I'm always interested to hear other opinions!

I've tried to play through one of them and agree, they aren't terrible games. Some major flaws and quality concerns but at least playable.

I think most people compare them relative to other console Zelda releases, in which case I think they are pretty bad.

I finally got round to playing one of them today after buying Wand Of Gamelon and Faces Of Evil a couple of weeks back.

After playing the latter one earlier on I was pleasently surprised. I was expecting total crap after everthing I had heard but actually thought the game was quite good, I am not a fan of RPG's anyway and prefer this style of game.

If you want crap then go play Thunder In Paradise . . . .

there are much, much worse games than that. TiP is actually one of the better games on CD-i. you, like most people, probably don't like FMV games though. in which case CD-i isn't really a system suited for you as it's major strength is full motion video - does it better than any other system

Great reviews! I've been watching the other ones you did, and it's given me a few more things to try to track down.

I love Thunder in Paradise! In fact, all of those type of games are fantastic on cd-i. As much of a cd-i fan as I am, even I would admit that Dark Castle is completely unplayable. That's why it was discontinued when cd-i was still in it's heydey!!

I'm subscribed to you, so i actually saw this video when you released it and I agree 100%. I know why they're getting bad press nowadays, though: It's from the thousands of mindless AVGN fanboys running around.

I just posted this in another spot accidently, didnt see this article first. Was just reading up on the CD-i Zelda, and came across this review -
The "trilogy" is a large departure from the rest of the series, and they are generally considered poor efforts by fans and reviewers alike. Nintendo has erased them from the Zelda canon, evidenced by their absence from any of Nintendo's websites and publications. The character designs and personalities used in the games appear to be based heavily on the cartoon series.
Thought it was funny, though I actually don´t mind the games myself, in comparison to the others certainly there is none..but there´s nothing wrong with a bit of a retro game! My friend has just started a bloghere too if anyone wants.
