I'm talking about a complete CD-i console, with memory, and the digital video cartridge. I found this on Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PHILIPS-CD-I-CD ... 19d530cdf8
As you can see, the seller is Top Rated, but this bundle does not include the digital video cartridge, or a controller, other then the lousy thumbstick one.
But, is this a good deal? Should I go for it?
What is a reasonable price (in US Dollars) for a CD-i??

The starting bid is 145 dollar, the shipping costs are 70 dollar. There's no DVC, no controller. Four games. the total price is over 200 dollar.
I've never seen a CD-i player as expensive as this one!
My 470 model in new condition cost me less than 5 dollar. There's a built in DVC. I picked it up myself so there were no shipping costs. True, the timekeeper is original, but it still works.
Your deal is about a refurbished machine, true. But is that worth 200 dollar?
Not for me.

I know right!Bas wrote:Dear God, what happened to the prices of CD-i players !?!?!
US Ebay reports prices between 200 and 400 dollar to be pretty normal these days!
Thank god I live in the netherlands, I picked up my 2nd CD-i which came with almost 30 games and loads of other software and videocds for 40 euros off Marktplaats.nl. (too bad no decent gaming controller, still looking for one of those, remotes make the games almost unplayable...)
Ebay is just rediculously overpriced, especialy with CD-i stuff.
I mean Hotel Mario between 20-50 euros?
That's just rediculous in my book.

To be honest? $50 - $75 for a base unit without much in terms of games and accessories. Just something to get you going. Problem is, there are usually large bundles (they are bound to go for a couple of 'bills), or absurdly high BIN prices that are, well, overpriced! Keep an eye out though, you can get good setups for under $100.
