Tony Trippi - Musician of the Hour

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

Tony Trippi - Musician of the Hour

Post by Kao » Sun Oct 02, 2005 8:47 pm

Tony Trippi -- I love this guy.
He's behind the music found in numerous CD-I titles:

Alice in Wonderland
Philips, 1992
Laser Lords
Philips, 1992
Link: The Faces of Evil
Philips, 1993
Paint School I
Philips, 1991
Paint School II
Philips, 1990
Pyramid Adventures
CDI, 1993
Mutant Rampage: Bodyslam
Philips, 1994
Sargon Chess
Philips, 1990
Story Machine: Star Dreams
Philips, 1991
Story Machine: Magic Tales
Philips, 1991
Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon
Philips, 1993

One of the tracks he wrote for one of the Paint School titles can also be heard on the title screen of The Palm Springs Open.

Check him out some time: http://www.tonytrippi.com

 Yeah, I'm a big CD-I fan, and I've been a Tony Trippi fan for a while now, too ;)

Mr. Trippi himself lists the bolded titles on his site under "Portfolio," but some games (like the Palm Springs Open) aren't listed.

I've actually e-mailed him about sharing some of his memories of producing music for the system, so we'll see if anything comes of that :)

Very cool!!

If Mr Trippi is open to discussion we'd love to publish any statements or interview on Black Moon.

Just got a reply from Mr. Trippi, and this is pretty exciting! :)
He hasn't really answered the questions yet, but says he wants to gather some thoughts and he's actually passing my e-mail on to "the rest of the development team!" I never mentioned a specific title I wanted his experiences on, so I assume he means the development team behind the music.

Pretty positive and generous response, I'd say! I'll let you know when I hear back from him. :)

Interesting, I normally don't pay too much attention to the credits in games, but that's interesting that he worked on the music for all those games.
