CD-i 450 memory problem - just need a yay or nay

Hey there!

After spending YEARS without touching a CD-i, I finally got one of my very own!

So I've gone and bought the staple games for the system, namely The 7th Guest, Burn:Cycle, Space Ace and Litil Divil.

However, any save game is wiped once the machine is turned off, and the internal clock seems to have both epilepsy and ADHD, changing from JAN 00 to APR 56, and even DEC 72. This really depends on how it's feeling.

I take it this is the good old "knackered battery syndrome"?

Yay! Sounds like a knackered battery alright I'm afraid

Penis. :(

Other than the rather confusing, dangerous-sounding method I've read about elsewhere, is there a cure?

Give it to me straight doctor, I can take it....

*cringe*

you can always cross your finger and try again :D

Tell me, is the CD-i the only console suffering with this kind of Timekeeper battery? As far as I know, there's no other way than replacing the thing or buy a second hand cd-i player again. Although, pretty much the same will happen soon I guess.

I had the same problem.

I left my CDI-450 plugged in for a few (maybe 8 hours), and it now works fine.
