Sound problems with 'Flashback'

Post by WindowsKiller » Mon Nov 20, 2006 9:14 pm

This is something strange. I really like the main menu music of the CD-i version of Flashback and wanted to record it, but on all my CD-i players, I get a very loud click and some noise shortly before the tune starts to loop. The disc itself is clean and I've also dumped it and compared the md5 hash with the one of a known good dump; it was equal, so my disc is 100% faultless. So, did they simply fucked it up or what else could it be? Maybe incompatibility with my CD-i 350 and 370? The only player I haven't tried it on yet is my 470, but I doubt it will be any different.

Can't comment as I play mine on the 370. Do remember that click however!

The portables had lots of bugs, in my experience the original CD-i players seem to work best with most titles; 205/910/210/220.

I've played CD-i Flashback a lot, although that may have been around 10 years ago ;)

I don't remember any click or noise in it however, and I was always wondering why in heaven's name this was the only tune in the whole game :D

That was on my good old 450 player.

I've now extracted the tune with IsoBuster, but it's an .rtf file. Is there an audio player for Windows that can play .rtf files?

I believe you can convert it but the method escapes me at the moment!

Perhaps I read it on icdia.co.uk?

Nope. It only describes how to listen to audio in IFF and MPEG files. :(
