Which portable player is the most user friendly when it comes to saving games (easy to change battery, memory card, etc...) I am afraid to rip open my Magnavox home player.

From all portable players, only the 370 has a replaceable backup battery. Moreover, it has 32 kb of nvram (unlike 8 kb as most other players). So your question is easy to answer.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a 370, since my magnavox players battery is now dead. Do you know of anywhere that I could get it replaced, or am I stuck trying to do it an my own? (I have no electrical skills!) Is there any home console that is more reliable when it comes to battery life?

Actually the man above has devised a tutoial to replace the battery pack. English translation to follow... I hope!

The newer the better are the chances that the battery is still working. But they weren't meant to last that long, so you can either buy a CD-i 370 or try to fix the Timekeeper chip (which holds the battery) yourself. Can't say how easy or hard it is, as I haven't done it myself so far.

I think that was the CD-i 740. Quite hard to find, however. Get a 370 instead, that's by far the coolest of all.

The DVS player is the last cd-i player ever manufactured. Counting only the Philips models, I think Windowskiller is right.
