I was reading icdia.co.uk's information on professional/authoring CD-i players and it stated that the CDI 604 requires a 9424 DVC, but goes on to say that a 9424 DVC is a 9141 cartridge removed from its housing and with a different ROM. However, pretty much the only DVCs you can buy these days are the 9141s and the 9956s.
If I wanted to upgrade my CDI 604 with DVC, how would I modify the 9141 cartridge to work as a 9424? Clearly removing the housing is one part of the equation, but is there something I can do to get around the ROM problem?
