Roller Controller Question and System Recommendation

Post by Reggie20x6 » Sun Oct 19, 2008 1:22 pm

My sister has wanted a CD-i gaming system for years, ever since we used to play it every summer while visiting our cousins in Maine (they got rid of theirs - they had a 910). I have already purchased a copy of The Wacky World of Miniature Golf (our favorite game) and the CD-i roller controller. My question to this forum is: Which generation of the CD-i system is the roller controller compatible with?

Right now, I am looking at the following American versions of the system:

Philips CD-i 450 (with a digital video card)
Philips CD-i 910 (with the green LCD display)
Philips CD-i 220
Philips CD-i 490

Also: Of the four, which system would you most recommend for gaming?

Thank you.

The CDI 22ER9012 Roller Controller is compatible with all CDI players.

If I was going to buy a player for gaming it wouldn't be the 910.

I would get yourself a 450 or even a 490 because they are the smallest of the ones mentioned.
