I'm busy finishing up two versions for CGE and VGEXPO, but after that I will start back in on the CD-I version. The CD-I emulator will speed up development, with the features it offers.

Devin,

Now that my memory is gone on the 350, I can no longer program in FTS programs  As you know, the cd-i 370 has no facility for FTS programs to be stored.

As I love my music, I want to buy a cd-i player which has FTS capability and also a changeable battery like the 370. Can you help please? Am I looking at buying one of those last professional type players?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I had a chance to play both versions (SEGA CD/NEOGEO CD) of Frog Feast whilst in California and it is insanely addictive. It's strength is definately in two player mode but surprisingly the computer does offer some challenge during play!! The game also survived the toughest audience any game developer could find in that of a child. You should have seen it Charles, this kid walked upto the NeoGeo CD version on play at the oldergames booth and was instantly mesmerised whilst playing.

Alan, I think THE GATOR still has some 350 players available if you want to get another one. What do you mean FTS program? I don't follow :?

Devin,

Frog Feast sounds great. Let's hope the cd-i version isn't too far away!

FTS is 'favourite track selection' and allows you to program your favourite CD's into the cdi's memory, and select which tracks you wish to listen to each time. When you load the audio CD into the player, your order plus album title appear each time.

Now that my cd-i memory is gone, this can no longer happen. But were there any last generation cd-i's that allowed FTS and changeable battery?

Thanks again.

Devin,

Hi, how is it going? Long time no speak!

My question relates to the 'NVRAM death' on cd-i's. Can you tell me which cd-i players are not affected by this? I remember you saying that the 370 is ok, and your DVS player also is ok?

I may well invest in a 490 if you can change the battery to protect the memory.

Thanks for your time.

As far as I can tell the DVS including the precursor which is basically the same in LG's GDI-700, 370 Portable and the SONY IVO series are also backed up through a button CR2032 battery. Besides these i've not found any others which support a replaceable battery for memory, although I intend to crack open my Grundig CD-i player soon and take a peak beneath!
