What have you bought recently (CD-i)

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

What have you bought recently (CD-i)

Post by K1ngArth3r » Wed Oct 03, 2012 10:46 pm

I swear I created a thread like this the other year but ill be damned if I can find it!

Well I'm excited about starting my CD-I adventure once again and wanted to share my first pickups!

1-20 CD-I magazine
Mad Dog McCree 2

Well I was playing Mad Dog 2 tonight and its as hard as hell with the 220 remote! I need to buy the peace keeper ASAP! The lag is terrible on this game also between scenes, much worse than the original on CD-I but still I want to finish it... I think I'll practice a bit and make a you tube video on this game!

Please feel free to sticky this thread admins :-)

That's funny cause it was the opposite with the 3DO ports. The original Mad Dog on 3DO borders on unplayable at points because of so much lag. It is an awful port. Yet the sequel plays great on 3DO. I guess I'll play the original on Cd-i & part 2 on 3DO.

I don't know if it's my player or the disc as the original was smooth as you sort of said.

Pickups today are:

Mad Dog McCree
Chaos Control (Again)
Tetris (Elongated CD jewel case) (Again)
Tangram (Elongated CD jewel case)
Sargon Chess (Elongated CD jewel case)

I just grabbed Chaos Control again too. Plays so much better now that I have a real controller.

Nothing recently. Sold off a few games, actually (kept the ones I enjoy).

A little ways back though I did pick up Pyramid Adventures. Was finally able to find it for a decent price (not the $50+ people on eBay try to list them for). I also got Flashback for a decent price as well. Still haven't gotten around to trying them out (CD-i isn't hooked up), but I will hopefully get around to it sometime in the near future.

Your version of Video Speedway has different artwork? That's pretty cool. :)

I thought that was the original cover art, I've never seen a copy that looks different actually. ;)

Went to a pawnshop today ( it actually looked more like a dump). and there were thousands of audio cds and cdroms most of it very dirty. Suddenly the cdi logo struck my eye. So I had to check all of the boxes. All the loose discs were in non cdi boxes somi left them there:
I'm especially curious about the not for resale discs wonder if there will be differences. Some of these might appear in my for trade thread as the are doubles
