Rag Doll Kung Fu

Post by Devin » Thu Jun 30, 2005 10:03 pm

Been following this one for a few months now. An employee at Lionhead (Black & White) has developed this whole game in his spare time, it's called Rag Doll Kung Fu and looks like a really good pickup and play game for your PC. It's probably only gonna cost 10 squid (£10 about 15 Euros) and looks like a pretty innovative, original title. My guess it'll be released in a couple of weeks, maybe we could organise some on-line Kung-Fu fighting.

Don't know what it is about the GTA games, I get wrapped up in them for weeks and then just drop it and never return!! I think because it lacks a really emotive story line. For example a game series like Metal Gear Solid really drags me in and i'm in for the entire ride, Hideos work is a kin to gaming Nirvana for me. Great sense of humour as well just look at the teaser for MGS4 on GameSpot, just do a search for it, if you understand the series you'll be in hesterics.

Other games on my roster of most played recently includes Devil May Cry 3, Oddworld Strangers Wrath just in a lul until God of War with regards to my allotted gaming time :P

If it's on schedule Rag Doll Kung Fu should be coming out this month...fingers crossed.

It'll be accessable through Steam of Half-Life 2 fame which people ever seem to love or hate. Being an ardent Half-Life 2 fan its never caused me any problems!! Also looking forward to the episodic content due for SIN which looks like a very interesting game. What's your opinions on Steam? I find the proposed episodic content quite fascinating, would you pay say 10 bucks for the initial game and 5 extra for each episode?

mmm steam now theres somehting to rant about. Personally i preferred it when it was connecting to the WON network (far easier, faster and more stable). I remember when everyone playing tfc and cs on half life 1 started to convert to steam....geez clans fell of the face of the earth nearly at one point. This was largely due to incompatability issues and gfx issues at the time. I love half life 2 thats without a doubt but as for steam....i h8 that with a passion. just my 2 cents  But lets face it....steam does allow for a much broader range of games and dloads now.

As for rag doll kungfu...im gonna do a google search now because it sounds very intriging with the name alone :D . Or maybe ill just click the link (slaps self to wake up).

slaps again just to make sure

I've been following the development of this game probably for the past year now from the very first footage including Mark Healeys comedy Kung Fu Movie which will make an appearance in the game itself!! The closest comparison to an existing game I guess would be Viewtiful Joe for free flowing combat although Rag Doll seems to offer far greater creativity in this department. For £6.50 can you really argue it's not worth at least trying out

Now this games damn fun man!!

You should see a massive multiplayer game really kick off, it's crazy. The single player games pretty out there as well with the search for "Ming Mong" chumping your way through mushrooms and Ninja flying to the end. At the last stage right now but the replay value is all in the Multi-Player, it's a great game just to casually kick ass for a few rounds now and again :D
