Yes, it was quite hard. I had to use a very sharp knife to separate the cover, and it took a few hours.
I've found a shop in the meantime that sells the cells needed to refurbish the battery, the cells are even from the same manufacturer! (GP, that is) Sadly, they charge 8,40 Euro for one cell, and 12 are needed... That's a little too expensive, but maybe I can get them cheaper somewhere else.

Does anyone know how long the original battery was able to power the CD-i 370? I've heard something about 1.5 hours at most. I can watch VCDs for more than 120 minutes with the new battery, it should even run longer when the DVC isn't used, as the load is much lower then.
Anyway, my battery refurbishing tutorial is done, but I have yet to translate it to English...
