This is a wierd problem

Post by Luciferuk » Tue Mar 13, 2007 6:52 pm

Hello, Hope someone can help. I brought a CDI 210/25 from a local shop. It came with a few game's and movies. The games wouldn't work. I kept getting read error's. So i tried the movies and they worked great. I wanted to play game though so took it back and got my money back.

Then i brought the same model from ebay. This worked well and played everything i put in. Then i noticed that it wasn't saveing any game data or the time and date. So i followed the how to make the memory work guild. It worked great. The time and date saves perfect. The promlem i have know is that is dont play any movie's or game's. It will play music cd's tho. When i put and movie or game in it does say there is a CDI disk in but then i click the lauch icon it just goes to a blue screen and nothing else happens. Anyone know what might be causeing this?

I also brought the broken CDI back from the shop. This one didnt play games. I thought the cd rom drive might be broken so i changed them around. But even the one that works dont read the games in this CDI.

Hope this all makes sence and if not please let me know and i'll try and explain better.

Thanks in advance for any help on this. I so wanna play 7th Guest :)

maybe there's something wrong with your games? Something like scratches, or corrupt CD-R copies?

yea its true. ^
i have the same CD-i 210/25 model as you. Ive never had problems myself with the console not reading my games but i made sure all the games were in good condition as i wanted to keep them working.
However, saying that, i do own a copy of tetris that has managed to get scratched and now its obsolete. The screen just turns blue like you described. Somtimes im lucky and it works but it useualy bombs out half way through
The cd-rom drive in the cd-i 210/25, to my knowledge, is very tempermental. Its more than likely the games that are faulty if youve already tried replacing the drive itself with no luck.
You can get cdi games cheap on ebay at the minute and a copy of 7th guest is quite easy to find on there...awesome game
