Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

Competition: Make a Background for Black Moon!

Post by Devin » Fri Apr 06, 2007 9:47 pm

In a blatant demonstration of lazyness, I need new background pictures for The Black Moon Project from you guys! However I'm willing to throw in a few games for your efforts [tgn_rogue ] including Burn:Cycle, The 7th Guest, Kingdom: The Far Reaches and Kether all brand new USA regional releases with free Postage and Packaging anywhere. No deadline or end on this competition if a submission comes along that I like it'll be used and you shall receive your prize and if any other cool images are submitted I might even consider using those as well and giving away more prizes!

What do I need? The following...
  • * Background image for the main website, ideally a repeated composite that merges with the current design.
    * It needs to look cool but not so garish that it becomes a distraction to visitors reading Black Moon.
    * Extra points awarded for use of CD-i specific attributes gaming, hardware or otherwise!
    * Maybe a new design for the Game Pages background would also be cool, awarded with another brownie point.

No more than 300*300, as long as it looks nice repeated in a background image.

Okay well I have a basic layout for the image done but it might take a little while longer, due to the TINY matter of the 4.3 earthquake/tremmor hitting not only my hometown of Folkestone but also my road being on of the main ones affected, thus making this place pickadilly circus.

Edit:

Okay after finally getting some time to myself I managed to save a rough version of one idea for the background. Feedback always welcome.

Yea i know it kinda sucks and doesnt tile very well but its just a rough one for working out the settings and effects etc.

That's really nice, although maybe a more simplictic version would suffice. If you can get me one background with the CD image that tiles correctly and also another version including the Philips logo I'll be a happy bunny. I'm gonna use it as a space filler so it shouldn't be too distracting. Love the experimentation with (The Apprentice) game assets, perhaps some mad composite like that would be good for Black Moons game pages. Extra brownie points! :D
