quick question

Anything relating to CD-i can be discussed in this forum. From the multiple hardware iterations of the system to the sofware including games, reference, music and Video CDs. Maybe you hold an interest in Philips Media and the many development houses set up to cater for CD-i if so then this is the forum.

Post by HAWKXP1972 » Sat May 05, 2007 2:16 pm

first of all, hello :D

im very interested in this cd-i emu but before i pay i need some info.

first of all reading on the main web page it states you have to activate  and its only one time you have to do it, my problem is this ...... how can i activate it, the machine its going on is my arcade machine with no internet connection ........ ill be paying for it on this machine im on now, setting it up on this machine, then itll be moved via cd to the arcade machine, if you know what im saying

im just worried about paying for it and then finding i cant work it on the other machine, iv been burned once when i bought virtual jukebox for my cab and you was only allowed to use it on the machine you run it on, well i had to test it first on the NET machine, so when i moved it over to the cab it wouldnt work :x

also how do i go about getting to system bios rom :?

thanks for any help fellas.

ps) cant wait to get cdi-ing 8)

sounds very cool!~I hope you can post a picture of a unit like that playing CD-i ;)

You have to download the emulator as well, so if you can download it, you can also activate it, right :D After this, copy the software to the arcade machine. Did you check the compatible software list?

I would try the free time-trial version first, you can download it here

About the BIOS, and more about the general set-up of the emulator on your PC, have a look here

thanks for your reply :)

iv already downloaded the cd-i emu and tried to test it but i need a system bios to do anything or make it work, iv got about 6 system bioses and none of them are compatible with it, iv also got images as well to test, dont own a CD-I though to link to my PC so i can get a bios file

so i dont know what to do now, i cant really test it to see what works.

heres my arcades though if your intested, it holds more than 20.000 games, and all known arcade and console emus and pc games even all the dance dance revolution shizzle too  ....... thats for the daughter though.

its got a PC hardware inside and arcade jamma, for arcade boards, i usually play soul calibur though or tekken tag.

its a intell pentium D ... 3.4ghz, 1gb corsair memory, geforce 6800 gs, SB audigy 2, 400gb hdd.

i did actually build this my self, it took 3 mounths just to build it, and about 2 mounth to get everything setup ........ its sorta like a history book on arcade and console gaming from the 80s to now.

here you go heres some shots, well alot really. :D

You do not need an actual live Internet connection to activate CD-i Emulator; it's just a matter of entering the appropriate codes by hand.

Activation needs to be done on every machine where you use CD-i Emulator, though.

If you need more help, ask me via PM or mail.

PS. Which 6 BIOS images do you have that won't work?
